Today, Congresswoman Sylvia R. Garcia (TX-29) released a new report from the Joint Economic Committee estimating that 87,000 Child Tax Credit monthly tax cuts were sent to families in the TX-29 Congressional District the week before Thanksgiving. A total of $48.9 million in tax cuts went back in the pockets of hardworking TX-29 families, covering 189,000 district children in November.

"Families in my district have been directly impacted by the benefits of this expanded Child Tax Credit which has significantly slashed poverty across the country," said Congresswoman Sylvia R. Garcia. "Hundreds of dollars in tax cuts for TX-29 families the week before Thanksgiving means gas in the car for that trip to the abuela, tío, or primo's house or extra grocery money to get Thanksgiving dinner on the table."
